As I dive deeper into the world of the creative industries, the disruption at its core fascinates me.
Here’s one of the possible definitions, according to the book The Orange Economy:
The creative economy (orange economy) encompasses the immense wealth of talent, intellectual property, interconnectedness and of course cultural heritage, of the Latin American and Caribbean region (and indeed, every region.)
The books The Orange Economy and Orange Economy/Economia Naranja are the results of a research project spearheaded by the Inter-American Bank and the work of creative entrepreneurs at the firm Creative Means Business.
As someone originally from South America I found the books’ finding uplifting, to say the least.
Faced with so many socio-political and economic adversities, creatives in South and Central America and the Caribbean are thriving. Their ideas, projects, and innovations are game-changers for the region and the world.
